Coming in at #1 is El Camaleon Golf Club. El Camaleon is located within the resort of Mayakoba, just north of Playa del Carmen, only 35 minutes south of Cancun International Airport. This Greg Norman-designed (it was his first design in the destination) course plays through three distinct eco-systems, jungle, mangrove and sea.

In fact, you get two holes that give you a fantastic view of the Mexican Caribbean. Hole 15 is a par-3 that plays along the water and is the signature hole of not only the golf course but of the tournament television broadcast. And Hole 4 plays into the Caribbean and is a great picture hole from the green.

And YES, El Camaleon Mayakoba does host the first PGA TOUR event in Mexico, the Mayakoba Golf Classic, held every November. El Camlaeon is 10 minutes outside of Playa del Carmen with transportation arranged from and returned to your hotel.
